Mission Statement:

Nanaimo Affordable Housing Society develops and manages housing and support services for people with special needs.

Current Projects:

Albion Place is a 17-unit townhouse complex for low-income families (must have dependent children and at least 40% custody) with 9 two-bedroom units, 7 three-bedroom units, and 1 four-bedroom unit.  It is located at 510 Pine Street. Applications are available through the NAHS office, by calling BC Housing at 1-800-257-7756, or through the BC Housing website, www.bchousing.org. 

350 Prideaux Street and 153 Wallace Street are apartment complexes for single adults with a permanent disability who require support. As there is a very low turnover rate, no new applications are currently being accepted. For more information contact the tenant support office at 714-0170.

2104 Bowen Road, opened in August 2009, provides 20 1BR apartments for low income singles. Applications are available through the NAHS office, by calling BC Housing at 1-800-257-7756, or through the BC Housing website, www.bchousing.org. 

NAHS provides permanent housing only. Vacancies are filled from a waiting list. No emergency housing is available. (Estimated waiting time: 1 year or more).
